Fleshy skin portruding out from within my daughter eyelid

Anyone ever see such a thing? it is like a fleshy part of skin that is coming out from under her eyelid. It is not round like a stye or cyst, it is fleshy and irregular shaped.

It started a month or so ago with Blephartis (a bacteria on the eyelashes) and that seem to clear up just fine. Everything then was fine until one night at her overnight camp this fleshy thing popped out and was hanging there, you could even see it when her eyes closed.  I called the dr on call. He said it sounded like inflammation and to put cold compresses on it and it should go away in a few days.

It did go down so we figured great it is going away. I see it there again and the office says her dr can't see her until September due to no openings. So now I have to research other doctors, check our insurance etc. But has anyone in the meantime heard of such a thing? I wish I could post a photo here.

Most likely it is a pyogenic granuloma. Google that and look at Google Images. It is exuberant inflammation tissue on the conjunctiva where usually a chalazion or stye has set up an inflammatory response.  You know you need to find a new physician. anytime you call in June and are told you can't have an appointment till September you need a new doctor. In our Kansas City Discover Vision Centers we offer same day appointments for emergencies and most urgent visits. Ask you family doctor to refer you to a different ophthalmologist that can see you within a few days.   If this is a pygoenic granuloma a short trial of steroid drops will sometimes cause it to regress, if not it can be excised relatively easily under local ansethesia.

At this point you need to get into an ophthalmologist who can look at it soon. If it is a pyogenic granuloma it is not a serious problem but it will require some form of treatment.

I googled and saw a few on the eye. Yes this could very well be it. I am so glad it is not oozing or anything. If this is what it is, is this a serious condition? Can this affect her version? This eye was also her lazy eye. She started corrected at 20/400 in this eye and 20/100 in the other. So this eye we have been especially trying to pamper over the years to save her vision. I am really worried about this eye and keep it (well both of them) healthy.

Of course we can't diagnose for sure but that certainly looks exactly like a pyogenic granuloma I had in my office about 8 weeks ago.

Thanks I looked at a few, I am not sure. I am going to look for more, as it looks like these can be all over the body? I was able to upload a photo of her eye too. http://crochetgarden.com/eye/eye-003-copy.png

The thing that comes out is actually a lot bigger than it is in the photo, but some of it is still under her eyelid. And yes, my husband is going to call the dr office tomorrow and explain this really needs to be seen and is not the blephartis acting up, as we know what that looks like already. I was only dealing with the scheduler lady, so maybe if I get a different one, not sure.
