Flashing Light in Left eye in Peripheral vision & much more

Hello -
I have seen a couple of posts similar to this but wanted to explain my symptoms exactly.
For approximately 1.5 years I have had a flashing light in the corner of my left eye in the peripheral vision. It first started when I was doing yoga and looked over at a white wall. Im not sure what caused it to happen, all I know is it was scary!

They are so normal now, every single morning and every single night - my eye flashes at least 5 times. It also flashes a few times throughout the day - but only sometimes. Depends on the lighting I am in. So every day my eye flashes at least 10 times. Sometimes I can make it happen my blinking sometimes I cannot.

Since this freaked me out I immediately went to my doctor ( my grandmother passed away of brain tumours and her only symptoms was flashing light in eye)
My CT Scan showed nothing..
I was referred to an optomologist (sp) and a optometrist (sp) and had several appointment - which also revealed nothing.
I am now being referred to neurology which takes at least 14 months to get into.
In the mean time my doctor has tried a few things - first thought it was anxiety - medication didn't help and I am not an anxious person
Then we tried medication for migraines - again didn't help.
So now I am stuck - and it is driving me crazy. it has been a least a year and a half since I have not seen this stupid flashing light!

Another thing that I am noticing since this flashing light is flashing lights and circles when I look into a bright blue sky or look at the bright snow if I am outside. I went skiing last winter and the flashing lights were so bad that I couldn't go down the hill - only has happened a couple of times while driving in a snow storm . If I am driving I can look into the blue sky and see the flashing lights but when I focus on the road again they disappear. I also have permanent floaters in my vision. I also have Flickering lights in my vision sometimes - like someone has turned a light on and off so quickly its hardly noticeable.
I thought maybe it was the florescent lights at work but it has happened in other places as well.

Other then the vision disturbances I feel fine! The vision problems also occur when I am excersing which makes it difficult to so.

Does any one else experience any of these things????

I would suggest you get in line to see a neuro-ophthalmologist also. Since you've hd 18 months without other serious symptoms developing its not likely anything serious. Another thought would be to see an retina specialist Eye MD ophthalmologist to see if you have an area of vitreous traction on the retina.

Hi - thank you for your reply. I have seen retina specialist as well - No tugging, no tear or hole. Eye is completely normal
Then your best bet would be a highly acclaimed neuro-ophthalmologist which is different than a neurologist.
