Flickering Vision

Hello. My eye doctor is on vacation so i will try to post a question here before she control my retina. I have degradative Myopia since birth. Recently i'm noticing flickering vision. It is like only when i am in a dark room with something bright, light or dark room with a small window. I see like light arcs or very fast sea waves in my peripher vision. It is present when i wake up in the morning. then it disapears and it shows again at night before i go to sleep. Sometimes appears also during the day but not likely. I also noticed that it appears if i increase phyisical activity. It is not constant so i think this couldnt be the retina or maybe it is i dunno. When i close my eyes i still see the waving but then disapears very fast. And if i keep eyes open it's becoming worse. Recently i started to use timolol eyedrops i dont know maybe are the eyedrops causing this. Also when i drink alcohool the waving increases. But then sometimes i do physical activities or drink alcohool at night and i dont seee the flickering at all It is very confusing because i dont find a patern when this happens. It is very stressful, because i worry thats somthing serious.

and another question. I have myopia -23, -25 + astygmatism....i go biking 3 times a week, then every night i do some exercises for abs and 30 push-ups... My doctor says that this little is ok and healthy for my circulation. I ask for a second opinion. Thanks

Ok... Today i was at the retinal specialist... He said to me that my retina is relatively ok for my myopia... that is thin and that i have many cracks but that is fine. He also saw that my vitreous detached partly in my righ eye and completly in my left... What that means, am i in a more dengerouse position??? and about physical activities every body tells me  whithout sudden head movements but nobody can tell me what i CAN do... so abs, push-ups are dangerous for my retina??? what else can i do to be in good shape, that wont affect my retina. Those days i feel like even if i go out on a walk everything will explode in my eye =)))

thanks

You need a dilated exam as this implies pulling on the retina by the jelly in the eye.  Your myopia puts you at risk for retinal tears and detachments so you need to get checked for these ASAP.  If you start seeing a dark curtain or cloud comming from the periphery toward your central vision, that becomes an emergency.  Any exercise that has sudden head movements could cause retinal problems but you also need to live life.  It is a balance you will have to decide on for yourself with your doctor's guidance.
