Glare Problem

I had LASIK surgery back in 2002. Everything was PERFECT until January 2008... All of a sudden out of the clear blue sky i got a complete numb face including around my eyes and could not feel my face. It was terrible. Vision was still fine but in the back of my mind i knew something was gonna happen. Then 5 days later i felt something in the back of my head and felt funny and my left eye started to strain... then my left eye started going in and out and all the colors on the tv were going in and out. I got a headache above my eye when i went to watch tv and my vision got blurry. Not people but reading things on PC or street signs. went right to Neuro opt. they checked my eyes said they saw NO O.N. or anything. then went back to my reg Opt... he did a VEP and he said i passed with flying colors but still blurred left eye. (right eye has lazy) my opt says there is nothing wrong with you eyes.. how could that be?? i then went to the Shiley eye center in Calif they did tests etc they found a GLARE Problem. The doc said I did not have O.N. sure felt like it. he said i described all the symptoms but dont have it. Said the glare problem was due to Astigmastism.. could that be true?? i have been going for accupuncture to try and fix the vision prob . All the docs shrug off this all happened after the numb face.. 3 CTs of head and 1 MRI of brain and EEG all came back negative. Still get glare prob at night and lost sharpness... Can someone please help me..

I was accidentaly kicked in my right eye by my 6 year old son during play time and my eye began to show signs of a red blotch.  That was about 5 days ago, the red blotch has fadded away however the last 3 days I have been experiencing frequent bright flashes of light on the right side (very distracting).  I'm a little nervious and I'm not sure what it could be, I look forward to your response.

Thank you

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Dear Jrlexusman,

I would recommend that you seek care of an eyeMD.  Undergo a complete eye examination including cycloplegic refraction [refraction after dilation].  Astigmatism can cause some reduction in acuity and glare at night, which might improve with nighttime glasses.  Feel welcome to contact my office if you desire another opinion.
