Glare issues

Hi Doctor,

For the last few months I've noticed when I watch TV in my bedroom that I get a "glare" around the right side of it. There is a window next to the TV, and I notice it more when the blinds are open, as well as when I have the light on in the room. The problem goes away when I wear my glasses. Which is what both my eye doctor and family doctor told me I just need to do. It's just odd to me that I see this foggy glare only in there. They felt it might have something to do with the lighting in the room, and the fact that I should be wearing my glasses all the time. I've been bad about wearing them all the time, but have started to now. But would it be normal to have this problem come on more suddenly? Or perhaps I'm just noticing it now, and it was always there? I had a full eye exam and everything was fine, eyes looked perfect he said.

Just wanted to see if you agreed with my doctors, or if it sounds like something I should pursue further? Thanks!

Jennifer

Thank you so much. I think I'll be able to ignore it now that I know it's nothing serious. Seems like the more you pay attention to normal things the more you notice them! Thanks again, I'll have some peace of mind now!

This is just an optical effect due to the light conditions. This is not related to the health of your eye but just how light is entering your eye from different points. Do whatever it takes to reduce or eliminate it if it bothers you.
