Got hot water in eye

So a few seconds ago I was washing out some stuff out of my eye and I turned the faucet to hot. The thing is, I didn't anticipate how hot the water would be (not boiling but like bath water hot?) so when I put my eye under the faucet, it hurt and I pulled back almost instantly. Aside from some minor pain on the corner of my eyelid and some strain, I don't feel anything.

Is there any possibility of my eye getting worse/permanently damaged from this?

Also, the faucet was on pretty strong but about an hour later, my eye still seems to be normal? Only thing that kind of hurts is my eyelid which is sort of red. Any chance of further damage from this though?

Probably by now you know for sure. I suspect you have only mildly scalded the skin and the eye is likely fine. If that isn't the case you can make another post.
Thanks! It's been about almost a day and my eye seems normal aside from some minor pain on the eyelids and some minor irritation on the top part of my eye but that seems to have gone away with eyedrops.

I think I'm fine?
Sounds like you are on the mend. Don't do that again.
