Gray Areas on Sclera

Ive been noticing my friend's eyes have grayish colored areas on the scleras, mostly underneath her eyelids. There isn't much of anything too close to the iris, but you can clearly see the gray areas when she rolls her eyes around or if you look under her eyelids. I first noticed them about a month ago, and they're still there. However, she doesn't complain about any pain, vision problems, or anything like that. So I was wondering if this sounds like something serious that we're missing, or could it just be along the lines of something simpler like proper diet?

Crying won't do it. If its new problem then a Eye MD ophthalmologist should examine her.

She is 18 yrs old. She also has frequent problems with her mom, unfortunately, which tend to make her cry a lot--sometimes as frequent as daily. At the time i first started noticing the gray areas she seemed easily nauseated, sometimes to the point of puking. However, that only seemed to last about a week. i was wondering if any of that factored into this.

Gray on the cornea is usually corneal arcus, an aging change that does not affect the vision.

Gray on the sclera is also usually due to aging changes (scleral plaques)
