HORNER SYNDROME - ANY TREATMENT?.-

Hello experts, wishing you all the best. On July 24th I had surgery to remove a benignant tumor off my chest (left side next to my esofagus) after the surgery I realized that my left eye wasn't as opened as my right eye it also was kind of redish and I couldn't sweat from the left side of my face at all. Yesterday I was told I have Horner's Syndrome as a result of the surgery, the neurologist told me there's no treatment for the syndrome itself and since the underlying cause was already treated (extraction of the tumor) I needed to wait from 6 to 12 months to let my nerve regenerate and go back to normal. I want to know if there's anything I can do (exercise or other stuff) or take (medicines or shots) to help my nerves to recover. I don't want to lose this time just waiting.. any vitamins? any recommendations to avoid more damage to my nerves or help them recover?.

Thanks for your time.

I am also not aware of a treatment for the Horner's syndrome, once the underlying cause (in this case, the tumor) is treated.  It is possible that the nerves will regenerate, and the upper lid droop and the lack of sweating will improve.  If the lid does not return to its original position after 6-12 months, ptosis surgery (to lift the upper lid) could be considered.  I don't know that vitamins would help, but a good multivitamin and fish oil certainly couldn't hurt.  I know of no exercises which would help.

The neurologist sent me to rehabilitation. It's going to be 15 sessions of laser, electrostimulation and some exercises. It will start next Thursday, doctor said that I could expect for good results.

Thank you. I have an appointment with the neurologist today, I still don't know exactly at which point of the nerves is the injury caused by surgery. I am takin a multivitamin and fish oil. Other doctor recommended me to take Vitamin B Complex. I will be patient to wait for some results.
