Halos around lights / brightness

Im a 23yr old male. I have been seeing halos around lights for about a month now. They started in my right eye a couple of days after a bad case of viral conjuntivitis (pink eye). I went to see an ophtalmologist who told me I had "scars" in my retina and put me on RESTASIS® (cyclosporine ophthalmic emulsion) 0.05% and Flarex for two weeks. After a couple of days using the drops the halos disapeared, but they came back about 2 days after I stopped using the drops.

I had blunt eye trauma to my right eye from a tennis ball about a year ago (I also have eye floaters).

The doctor did check my macula and said everything was fine, but after reading a little in here, I found that there are additional tests that should be done to eliminate the possibility of other types of causes for my problem. Whats puzzles me is the fact that they came as suddenly as they went away.

Now I can see the blurriness also at daylight when seeing a bright shine on something (light ray shinning on a white tile on a fairly dark hight contrast room). VIsion acuity seems somewhat diminished, but i feel that changes slightly from day to day

Im somewhat suspicious about the diagnosis because a scar cannot suddenly disapear, and then all of a sudden come right back. it doesnt make any sense.

Additional details: I do not wear contact lenses, 20/20 vision (daylight) in both eyes with very little myopia.

The halos are plain in color, if the light white, I only see a white halo, no "rainbow".

The doctor did not check my eye pressure.

Restasis will not work in two weeks. It takes about 4-6 months to work so you can rule out benefit from that  short term. Flarex is a steroid and would make lots of things better: dry eyes, inflammation, iritis, blepharitis.  It would not do anything to scars on back of eye because steroids don't reach the back of the eye in any meaningful concentration.

Your description sounds much more corneal than retina. I suggest you see a cornea specialist. Ask that dry eyes be ruled out, ask for a corneal topography to rule out irregular astigmatism. I'm sure the Eye MD you saw would be happy to suggest a cornea eye MD for a second opinion or you can go to www.geteyesmart.org

I just realized that I wrote "scars on my retina" on my first post, I do not know how to edit, but it should say "scars on the cornea"

Okay that makes more sense but does not change the recommendation to see a Eye MD that specializes in corneal disease.

I havent been to the corneal specialist yet but over the past week I stopped seeing the halos again for 1 or 2 days, only to get them again last night.

The last time I saw my eye doctor, 1 or 2 days before making this post, he simply scheduled a checkup 3 months from that date, but im wondering if I should see him earlier given this "on/off" condition seems somewhat reocurring....

Im completly puzzled, because if its in fact a scar that is causing this, how come can this condition be "on/off" like this?

Same reason my hip hurts some days and not others; or that someone's asthma flares up; diseases are rarely to never always the same, day after day.
