Has anyone found a treatment for palinopsia?

I have tried lamotrigine 25mg once daily and so far it hasn't helped at all. I've been reading endless forums and can't seem to find anyone who has found a treatment that works for them, if anyone has found something that works please let me know, I'm desperate for answers.
My worst symptoms are after images and trailing images, also have a sensitivity to light

I'm going to move this to our Eye Care forum, where we have Dr. Hagan, an ophthalmologist, who answers questions.  Maybe he'll be able to offer some help, or some other members who have it will respond.

Thank you
I'm sorry, I will tell you up front nothing I can offer.  I've never had a patient come in to my office with that complaint.  Several postings on MedHelp but nothing definitive or that would offer solid recommendations. At some point I would see a neuro-ophthalmologist as they specialize in that type of problem.

I'm sorry you are experiencing this.

Are you only seeing this with migraines? All the time?

If you are on topamax, it may be a side effect of that. I get it when I first wake up in the morning, but then it stops shortly after.

If you have it all the time, without migraine, have you seen an ophthalmologist or a neurologist?

There are different types of this - https://www.aao.org/editors-choice/must-read-review-of-palinopsia (You need an account to read the whole thing, but this could be a starting point for you, and you could perhaps google the different kinds, and see what you find. I think you'd probably have illusory palinopsia, but you'd know more than I would.)

Thanks, I'm not on any medication, it came out of nowhere about 4 months ago. I've seen a neurologist he diagnosed me with palinopsia and prescribed lamotrigine but it's not helping at all. I'm on the waiting list to see the ophthalmologist but I doubt they will be able to help either, all the medications they prescribe for palinopsia seem to make it worse for people from what I've read in forums. That's why I thought I'd try asking here to see if anyone has found anything that does work
