Head injury

My son (17) got hit on the left side of his head (above ear) with someone's chin yesterday playing flag football. It hurts to touch and is a bit swollen. It also hurts to open his jaw wide and a bit to chew. He was really tired last night but seems to be fine today. Should I be concerned and take him to the doctor?
