Hello, I have had two retina detachments, exactly 1 year apart, repaired with vitrectomy 12 week gas bubble (no buckle), both followed with cataract repair. What you describe is very similar to what I experienced. As a matter of fact it took many months for my eyes to settle down after the surgeries. And....quite frankly, while very thankful for what I have and for great eye MD's, I will say my vision isn't quite the same as before. Even after two years since my latest, I get flickering spots which come and go, sometimes temporary stationary grey spots when going from light to dark. Eye Md, nor GP have any answer and say all is well. While I could spend a fortune trying to figure out the anomalies, I have decided that this is now my new "normal" and will report anything new. Actually since I have accepted this I am doing quite well - vision is corrected to 20/20 in both eyes. Feel free to search some of my posts or PM me if you wish. If any questions arise, don't worry yourself crazy as I tended to do.....call your surgeon. Its a long healing process for sure. Best of luck...Jim
Use the search feature, there are many posts on this problem. How long the bubble lasts depends on what type of gas, liquid was put in and how much put in and your body physiology.
