optic neuritis?

. I am 16 and for the past few months I have been having trouble with my vision off and on. All of these problems I have with and without my glasses on. At night while I am driving oncoming car headlights become so incredibly bight I am basically blind until that car passes me even with my prescription glasses on and off. And you know that feeling when your picture gets taken with a flash your vision is speckled for  few seconds I constantly have that. Like when I look at a dim lamp and look away my vision will be speckled for about a minute afterwards and the brighter the light sources the longer it takes to go back to normal. Also sometimes my vision will just have patches of Grey and black in them while I am looking at a tv, on my computer, or outside. But the thing that has me most concerned is about 3 days ago while I was sitting in class my right eye got cloudy all the sudden and I didn't feel anything in my eye like an eyelash or dust. I blinked my eye several times to try and make my vision clear again but that didn't help so I went to the bathroom and washed my eye out but that still didn't help. So I just went back to class and after about 10min it went way on its own. I was very worried so when I got home I called my neurologist(who I am seeing for migraines). He said it could be optic neuritis so he set up an appointment with an ophthalmologist(which I have in about a week). I had never heard of that before so I looked it up online and all most everyone who had this said there was a lot of pain when they moved there eye.

So my question is, is there anything else beside optic neuritis that could cause these problems?
I ask this because I have read that people have had issue with sensitivity to light/cloudy vision and they said the doctors told them it wasn't optic neuritis.

Dear questioning 204,

There are many causes of visual symptoms you describe.  Migraines can cause such symptoms.  It is a good idea for you to see an eyeMD to determine the cause in your particular situation.
