Dear TerriLynn52,
It is possible to have haloes following lens implantation. Do the lights flash even if your eyes are closed? If so, please seek care you’re your eyeMD and let him know about these symptoms. This should not occur as a result of monovision.

Thank you for your response and wonderful information. My flashing is during the whole day. Looking at this computer screen makes the flashes almost intolerable since it is constant and distracting. I don't know why when I close my normal eye the flashing stops in my IOL eye. I have no clue on why that happens. I go to the Dr. again on friday and I will let you know what he says about the flashing and crescent moon shape in my peripheral vision. The shape definitely is noticeable when both eyes are straight forward and looking down together. I wish someone would explain why this happens looking down and not so much looking forward, ahead or up. Weird eh?
I'm a patient not a doctor, but yes the IOL is smaller than the natural lens. This makes no difference, as it is still larger than your pupil. However, if you see a line appear in your peripheral vision, crescent as you say, you may have a reflection off of a square edge of the IOL. I have Crystalens-45 and often see a line flash in my side vision when I pass between a well-lit room and a dark room. I was told this is a reflection off the square edge and is called positive photopsia. If this is your problem, I don't think anything can be done about it.
