Inside of eyelids peeling

For a a couple of weeks my left eye has been playing up constantly and occasionally my right eye. It started out with my left eye becoming itchy, watery and stringy bits that I can feel on my eyeball which irritates it even more. The stringy stuff is stuck on the inside eyelids and you can easily peel off and until it's all gone my eye remains irritated. My eyelids also got every swollen. I went to optician and he said I had bacterial conjunctivitis and gave my drops to get rid of infection and drops for dry eye. I went back after a week and the infection had gone but the peeling stringy bits was still there but he said that it was due to allergies and gave me allergy drops that sting my eyes so I haven't been using them. I have noticed that I have two little lumps on the inside of my upper eyelid. Now the stringy bits aren't as bad everyday but some days they are bad and keep appearing. I really need to know what I wrong it is so miserable because my eyelid is still a bit swollen and constantly have to dab with tissue has made my eyelid skin dry.  This is TMI and possibly useless but I have also had some stringy gooey mucus stuff similar to the gooey mucus in my eye but on a larger scale we I wipe after bowel movement. Please help or if someone has/had the same please let me know. I need to know what's wrong.

SAME ANSWER:   It's not possible to tell you what's wrong from your description and without examining the eye. You need to move up the expert list and see an Eye MD ophthalmologist. If you saw one than you need to move up to one that specializes in Cornea and external disease.
