Mono focal or EDOF

My surgeon said l should go with either Eyhance , a monofocal that gives both distance and a bit of intermediate vision or Vivity an EDOF which gives both distance and more intermediate then Eyhance but has a lower contrast level then Eyhance. My surgeon says his has good results with vivity .  At the moment l am 48 and dont need glasses for anything so l guess l will need to get used to them for reading and close up but l dont want to need them for everyday things like shaving, reading car dashboard or making a meal. My main aim is to have excellent sharp  20/20 distance vision like l had before l got cataracts for driving and outdoors and TV  and enough intermediate to get by without glasses for most daily intermediate things. l  need to decide to go with Eyhance monofocal or Vivity EDOF, l want the extra intermediate vivity gives me but the trade off is lower contrast then the monofocal Eyhance .My surgeon says vivity would be better then Eyhance but l just cannot decide.

I can't help you. Like buying an automobile, there is no BEST auto and many good ones.  Some some one purpose better than another.

Yes l guess it comes down to how much the individual wants to avoid glasses, someone who hates glasses would be better off with an EDOF while someone who doesnt mind glasses at all , a monofocal . l dont mind glasses for reading but just not having to put them on everytime l shave or make a meal. My concern with going with Vivity or EDOF is the lower contrast compared to a monofocal, for example poor vision on an overcast day when theres not much sunlight. Do you know if theres a huge difference in contrast level between a vivity or EDOF in general compared to a monofocal, Have you heard cases of people who went with an EDOF or vivty complaining about low contrast or poor distance vision quality especially in low light days or are most people with EDOF happy with contrast level?
No I don't have an opinion that fits everyone for your questions. I do see second opinions frequently  and recently saw a man who had spent #12,000 USD at another practice and was told he would not have to wear glasses for anything, he needed glasses most of the time and had terrible glare even with glasses at night. If you ask to be left somewhat myopic without glasses you should be able to shave, even use a computer without glasses if you hit a target like -1.25
