Flickers of light in blind spot

In 2006 I had a retinal detachment repaired w a scleral buckle. Was successful. I've noticed kind of a sparkly light that flickers in the same area as the blind spot from the surgery. No changes in vision. I have the start of a cataract which is very small. Regarding can be causing the flickers of light? I saw my retinal dr in january and the buckle n eye were stabile.

I went yesterday to my retinal surgeon everything is fine the buckle stable apparently it's the vitreous gel that is floating around in my eye causing that.

If your symptoms are new since your exam in January, I would see your retina specialist again, to be sure that the retina is OK.  The cataract is not causing these light flickers.  The symptoms may not indicate any serious problem, but you want to be sure with a past history of a retinal detachment.
