Physical effort after the retinal detachment surgery

Hi.
I had a retinal detachment surgery some time ago and my doctor advised me not to do physical effort.
But I'm a guy who travel a lot and I need to wear the backpack for hours.
Does this count as physical effort? Can this do harm to the retina? What would be a maximum safe weight that I could carry?
Can you please give me some tips about how should I proceed without putting too much strain on the eyes/retina?
What kind of physical effort should I avoid?

I'm not being evasive, and that question has been asked before.  It is not possible to generalize about retinal detachment surgery. They all are different. In some cases the person can return to full and unrestricted activities, in other cases a lot of restrictions are imposed. Only your retina surgeon can answer the questions you have posed.  As a generalization a light back pack that you can easily carry (day pack) without straining would likely be okay but a multi-day maximum weight pack that his perceived as very heavy might be a problem.
