Is this dry eye related?

I am a 69 year old female with very dry eyes and chronic allergies. I had two catract surgeries one in Oct. and one in Nov.I  wake up  in the  morning and it actually feels like my bottom eye lid was stuck to my eye ball. I know now it is feeling like this because my lower left eye is quit puffy, all I have to do is tug gently on the puffy lid and it is gone. This started happening out of the blue.

I thought it was cataract related but actually the drops I was using before and after surgery seemed to solve the problem but it has reappeared. I did mention this to my eye Dr.but I told him my eye lid was stuck to my eye. He said it was allergies or dry eyes or a combination of both. I do sleep on this side and that side of my face is into the pillow.

I  would like your opinion and any helpful hints you may have.

Thank you, Line

This could also be from blepharitis which is related to dry eyes.  The best treatment may be warm compresses applied to your eyelids in the PM with scrubbing of your eyelashes with warm water +/- baby shampoo.  You could also try Muro 128 ointment in both eyes at bedtime.  If this doesn't solve the problem, return to your eye MD for further instructions.

I have read about  blepharitis and does not seem likely that I have this, of course this is only my opinion. As soon as I tug on my eye lid for a second the swelling is gone.I am using the drops for dry eyes and especally before I go to bed and still have this puffiness when waking. I must say that my allergies are really bad all winter long.
