Lensectomy one eye only

Does a lensectomy have to be performed in both eyes?  I had a multifocal lens put in my left eye.  The doctor says I have 20/25 vision but everything is blurry.  It is fuzzy up close.  I have a slight stigmatism.  Is there any way to fix that?  I have not had my right eye because I was waiting to get the 20/20 vision I expected in my left eye.  The doctor says that once I have both eyes done I will be able to see better due to the brain and focusing.  Is this true?

Don't do anything to your second eye until you're satisfied with your vision with your first eye.  Many people posting here have had their multifocal lens explanted and replaced with a monofocal lens, with very good results.  (See the archives.)  Follow Dr. Hagan's suggestion above.
