Looking for mini-monovision experiences

I'm going to need cataract surgery in the near future and have been researching the various options available today - including monovision, multifocal, and accommodating lenses.  From what I've seen about the "premium" lenses there are many issues that people seem to have and more risk of complications so I've been leaning toward monovision.   I read about the mini-monovision option and that seems like a good compromise to me.   I am 62 and have worn glasses all of my life, so I don't have a problem with  wearing glasses after surgery.  I did see that some people can't get used to monovision, and I wanted to try to find out if the mini-monovision approach is much better.   I'd like to hear from anyone with experience on mini-monovision or suggestions for where to get more information on the success rate of this approach.  Thanks.

I am about your age and also had to wear glasses or contacts all my life (from age 18 mos) --  until my cataract surgery in my left eye.  I never was privy to any of my own lens prescriptions all my life, so I never knew that, although my left (cataract) and dominant eye was very nearsighted, my right eye is only slightly nearsighted.  So after cataract surgery at age 60 that corrected my left eye to 20/20 for distance, the slight nearsightedness in my right eye gave me mini monovision and for the first time in my life I do not need to wear glasses or contacts. I need a magnifying glass only for extremely tiny print in dark rooms.  Wish I could have had this cataract surgery when I was 2  years old, would have been a much easier life!
