retina surgery

I had retina surgery on my right eye one week ago. I know one of the side effects is a droopy eye lid. My lid is droopy but is it too soon to be concerned? How long after retina surgery should my eye look "normal"???

We always prefer you ask your surgeon but as a generalization yes make up doesn't present a problem. Be care applying especially the mascara brush as we had a scratched cornea from that several weeks ago.

Today is 2 weeks since my retina surgery and my eye is looking better. Of course not normal yet but Is it safe to  wear eye make up now?

I doubt your surgeons will be able to tell you anything other than "we'll have to wait and see"

I have a gas bubble and the scleral buckle. They say it will take about 2 months for the gas bubble to dissolve. But I forgot to ask about the amount of time it will take for my eye to fully open and look normal and not droopy.

Retina surgery is so "different" that it is hard to generalize. For instance it makes a big difference if you had a scleral buckle which increases the risk of this being permanent vs. retinopexy with gas and no encircling element.  The latter has very low risk of permanent ptosis. You might ask your surgeon. I suspect it will be about 3 months before you know whether the lid returns to normal.
