My Field Vision Report

hi....my history high myope and Retinal detachment 4 years back......
after i started my professional software life......and gettin eye pains....i became more observant of my eyes......

A field vision test showed a small dark spec in the total deviation and pattern deviation of <0.5%

wen i move from a shaded region into bright sunlight(read from my office to get out for lunch) i see a luminous spot(read silvery and small) almost everytime......in one particular region in my vision......its momentary and does not appear again.....

also wen i get up in the morning i see a circular sort of a region in my eye which is bounded by a edge...a non uniform edge formed by many crescent edges......

also wen i move my eyes upwards i hear a moving sound...like sum1 is blowin into my ears...cud it be due to the streching of the retina which had been detached and then spontaneously settled.......

Q1 so my question is ....are these all relared to the spot that came in the field vision test

Q2 also there seems to be no problem with my optic nerve(as per my optho) ....so wat all other reasons cud cause the spot in the field vision test.

Soon i am takin another field vision test(after a gap of 2 years)....i dont feel ne vision loss in this time period....but watever problem existed is still there and is a great cause of eye/forehead and neck pain.

Q3  also i heard about dark spots(dark pockets) being formed in highly myopic peoples eyes......what does that mean

Lemme know

A spot in the visual field would not cause pain. Yes, it could be migraine. I would recommend a consultation with a neuro-ophthalmologist. Most large and some mid size cities have these highly trained individuals. They are often on the faculty of the Department of Ophthalmology of medical schools. An alternative would be too see a neurologist and discuss the possibility of migraine and a trial of anti-migraine medications. These problems should not be related to your high myopia and previous RD surgery.

The ophthalmologist or neuro-ophthalmologist will pick the best testing program for the visual field. Other tests you may need include fluoroscene angiography, optical coherence tomography of the macular and optic nerve (OCT Test).

The retinal detachment and/or the subsequent surgery may have caused a small visual field defect (scotoma) in that case it should look the same over a period of time and with ongoing observation (watchful waiting).

To repeat computer use does not cause structural eye damage.

Sharukh, you've ask basically ask the same question or a minor variant 4 or 5 times on the two eye forums. The physicians will not be replying any further. This forum does not substitute for a good relationship and the care of a local ophthalmologist.

Your question today on the Physician Eye Forum has been removed so others have a chance to ask their questions.
