In september 2012 I had a retinal detachement and vitrectomy + surgery. Everything went fine. Used Nac eyedrops afterwarss to prevent cataract formation. Money is no problem, so the wacky science behind it did not bother me too much.
I stopped using them because in june I saw a spot in the middle of my sight that was white but not very translucent. Stopped the eyedrops. After 1 month it went away. Macular pucker?
Gradually I noted two things:
- all the signs of cataract formation
- I had -3,75 after surgery. After stopping the drops (I guess) it steadily went up to -2,75 in january. Could not look at the screen from anything with -3,25 and lower...Just like very strong glasses in front of your eye!
Hmmmm...started to use the eyedrops again in February, started to wear good and eye covering UV blocking glasses at the begin of March. UV blocking contacts a week ago. Added an MSM + coloidal silver +NAC eydrop just a day ago.
Now: the last two won't have had any effect because they can't do that in a week or so.
Now some peculiarities:
1) the new eyedrop simply is absorbed by the eye or tissue surrounding it quickly. I checked this keeping the eye wide open and closed and keeping my finger on the "tearcanal" so it can't go there. MAde no difference. The NAC drops never did this, they partly ran out of my eye. Combined with the new drop, the NAC-drop is now gone too..?!
2) My lenses are going the other way now. I can´t use -2,75/-3.00 anymore, blurry at a distance. It is -3,5 again.
Is there any explanation for this change in diopter?? Will keep an eye on this the next few months to see what happens.
