Night Vision

Question, my gf complained to me that she has been consistently seeing purple spots while at night. What is this a symptom of?

hmm, i can provide alittle more info now... don't know if this changes your recommendation. Purple spots are more like a haze appearing in random areas of her vision, she sees them while driving at night. When she looks at them they disappear. They sort of blink in and out, i would say they fade, but she says its faster than that.
She's 18. Her mother recommended her for a neurologist but I dont concur. Her mother is also an optician so you would think she would know of this?

Thanks for your feedback thus far

I'm not sure - just guessing at possible nutritional deficiency - lack of vitamin A or other nutrients.  Could be related to seeing afterimages after extended work using eyes.  Could be a sign of some other retinal condition or fatique.  Suggest a complete dilated exam with ophthalmologist.
