Ok to have a Symfony IOL placed in eye with history of retinal detachment?

I had a vitrectomy, laser and silicone oil treatment of detached retina over a year ago.  This has caused a significant cataract to form that needs to be removed.  Before the cataract got so severe I was able to be corrected to 20/40.  I was wondering if anyone has had a Symfony IOL placed after retinal detachment.  I know multifocals are not recommended due to decreased contrast but I believe this issue is not so significant with EDOF IOLs.  Any recommendations?  Thanks!

I would recommend you use your search feature and find the recent adverse comments of people that had Symfony IOLs put in their eyes. These were people with normal eyes and they were VERY unhappy.  It should not be hard to find there are several.  I would not recommend anything other than a modern, highly aspherical monofocal IOL.    Also read this article carefully:  https://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/1648102/Consider-ALL-the-Options-Before-Your-Cataract-Surgery-Working-Through-Whats-Best-For-You    I think you would be making a BIG MISTAKE by putting anything other than monofocal IOL in your damaged eye.

I remember you posted something in June of this year.  And you are still pushing for 'premium' IOLs.   Your best VA is 20/24 and your retina/macula is not normal.  I would be surprised if any experienced surgeon would even put an premium/Symfony IOL in your eye.
