I have a disease called Neurofibromatosis. Some people with this disease have Optic Nerve Tumors.(Optic Glioma).
I know that they can be removed without issues, but questions are 1) once you have had a tumor like this removed (I had some sort of eye surgery when I was 4, my parents story changes like you change your underwear about what type of surgery I had done to my eye.I do remember going in for surgery 33 years ago) when I go to an eye doctor, upon an exam , would they be able to tell me if I had an O.G. or not, if it has been removed. and for my second question is my 4 year old has a lengthy medical history as well as some signs of having this disease, can they tell at this age, if he has any on his eyes.
