Oral Medications for Dry Eyes???

I have been taking fish oil supplements and then switched to flaxseed oil supplements to help my dry eyes after having iol surgery and later, lasik touchup on one of my eyes....Now i found that both were VERY effective in giving me a nice tear layer and worked great...but the problem for me is it seems i have either a hypersensitivity in taking either one and develop side effects after a while where i seem to get headaches and an uncomfortable feeling in my throat...

It's really a shame because the benefit are wonderful but the side effects are very annoying, to say the least...
I know about Restasis and all, but i was curious:  Are there any Prescription medications you can take ORALLY which are effective for dry eyes and that can be taken in maintenance doses, long term for the condition?
And any side effects generally with them?

Thank you....i did do a little internet research and it sounds like doxycycline can be pretty effective, based on posts i read in various forums from dry eye patients who had lasik..so i guess i will need to talk to my eye surgeon about it...
