PRK recovery after 6 weeks

6 weeks ago did PRK in both eyes. Right lazy eye, left dominant, ruled out for LASIK because of right lazy eye.

For the first 24 hours i was without the medical lense on left eye because it fell. Following week was very painful with burning sensation, mostly in left eye.

7 days into recovery right eye stabalized and is sharp till now. Left eye was very blurry and did improve in the next 5 weeks till now but still somewhat blurry.

When i get up in the morning my vision is pretty good and acceptable. As the day progresses my vision in left eye detteriates, since it is dominant that means overall bad vision. Needless to say i keep my eyes moist with artificial tears.

Is this recovery normal? Could damage have been made on the first day with lack of lense? Why do i see well in morning and later gets bad?

Thanks!

PRK is a procedure where it is not possible to generalize about recovery, pain and discomfort.  The most common reason for seeing well in the morning but worse as the day goes by in PRK patients is the cornea not being completely healed, not smooth and dry.  All of these need to be discussed with your surgeon.
