Pimple type spot on eyeball

2 years ago I started getting what looks like a pimple on the white of my eye which is surrounded by red vessels and becomes inflamed it started out on one now i have them on both eyes and they are begining to ache and burn. They come and go - when they appear they last for + - 6 days - just wondering if you have any idea what it is?

The result was that the film over the eyeballs wrinkles up thus causing a 'spot' which then causes inflamation. I was told it could spread over the pupil in which vision could become blurred. When / if this happens i shall have surgery to remove it. In the mean time i was told just to take paracetomol but if they get to inflamed to go and get antibiotic drops......
