Pink Eye

My son, 3, and daughter, 2 in April, both have what I think is Pink Eye.  We have not seen our Ped., since its Sunday, but they did call in an eye drop.  My question is, how long is the gestation period, just so I can warn who we've been around.  Also, whats the best car for the eyes.  Should I leave the gunk on the eyes (since it's a fighting battle) or wash it all off.  Should I take Lysol to everything?  Thanks in advance

Thanks so much.  I meant care.  With kids running around I have far more typos :p  But I'll keep the kiddos inside for a couple of days.  Good thing schools doesn't start till Tuesday

Pink eye is less contagious than a cold. It is spread by contact so kids with conjunctivitis should not play with other kids since they usually end up touchng one another.  Incubation time varies but the outside would be 3 days after all symptoms end. Not sure what you mean best "car" for the eyes.  Just wash your hands a lot and use your own washcloth and face towel.
