Hi my name is tia, i just turned 12 two days ago n for awhile ive had ichy eyes n dry eyes but ive thought it was nothing until tonight i looked in the mirror to find this string stuff and i googled it but theres not much information its white and gooey its probably nothing but im worried someone please help...

It's mucous. It's not serious. It's part of both dry eyes and allergic eyes. Don't try and dig it out with your finger. Use artificial tears when they feel dry and Zaditor (over the counter allergy eye drops) when they itch.

Please take Dr. Hagan's advice!  If you look through the message threads here, you will see a years-long discussion of problems with mucus in the eye, causing people to do compulsive goop-fishing in there and become slaves to this behavior.

This is allergy season, and people with sensitive eyes just have to learn to roll with the problem without going nuts about it.

Warm or cool compresses are helpful also
