Powerful astigmatism plus discomfort in eye after cornea abrasion

I poked my eye on last sunday with a plastic object. It left no remnants in my eye. It caused the typical pain and tears, and redness. Initially I had a very bright and powerful astigmatism type image that went far down and a bit to the left of my normal input image. I'm guessing this was caused by the impact's position, which hit me down to the left on my cornea.
This was gone when I woke up the day after, but I had increased astigmatism, producing an extra image slightly above my normal image, which lowers the quality of my vision. Additionally some pain which subsided after a few days, but still now there is a lingering weird sensation in the eye, which can sort of be described as feeling as if there is something in the eye, sometimes it feels like an eyelash is poking into my eye (which there never is when I check). Now I already have had astigmatism for quite a while, and this is exactly the same, except the astigmatism image is way more distinct than the others. If I could rate my different astigmatism images with opacity, my regular astigmatism has an opacity of 20-30% while this new astigmatism induced by the poke is more like 50-60%.
I went to the doc yesterday to have a look at it, he couldn't find anything and had me sent to an eye specialist. The eye specialist found nothing wrong other than slightly elevated pressure in my eyes.
Does anyone have any experience with this? Is the astigmatism type image I have in my right eye only a temporary effect from the poke? If so how long should I expect to wait until it wears off? Thank you

Thanks for the swift reply!
I do not seem to have any kind of re-occurance of the abrasion which you describe, it is only mildly discomfortable and feels odd, at all times.
I came across this question and I think I have the exact same thing, cellular debris under the cornea:

I think it's very odd that there is so little litterature on this matter since I've scoured the entire internet for anything I can find on it, and this seems to be 1 out of 2 places where I find a similar case.

After a corneal abrasion, it is possible that there is still some corneal edema (swelling) which may be affecting your vision.  Also, there is a condition called recurrent erosion which can develop after a corneal abrasion with a sharp object.  This will feel as if there is a repeat abrasion, usually upon awakening in the AM.  Astigmatism means that there is a difference in corneal power depending upon the meridian (clock hour) of measurement.  I would see an ophthalmologist if your symptoms do not resolve soon.
