Prescription sunglasses vs non-prescribed

Good morning everyone. Yesterday I had an eye check up and determined that I really need to wear glasses.
So I got the clear prescribed one but didn't get the prescription sunglasses since they are expensive... My question is I have regular sunglasses that are polarized, can I still used them ? Or I need to start wearing prescribed sunglasses ?

What are the pros and cons ? Please help

Thanks in advance

It depends on the strength of your prescription, and whether or not you will be wearing the sunglasses for driving.  Whether the sunglasses are prescription or not, they need to offer 100% UV (ultraviolet) protection, or UV-400.  Otherwise they are of no benefit in terms of protecting your eyes.  Your current sunglasses are fine to wear; if you need glasses to drive, wear your prescription clear pair, and use clip-ons if needed to block bright sunlight.

Personally, I like my photochromic (Transitions) lenses.
Since you have already purchased clear glasses, you could try some of the clip-on sun lenses.  Your eyes will thank you later for avoiding harmful UV rays.
