Radiation Retinopothy

Hi, I am a 49 y/o female who had radiation treatment for a head cancer some yrs ago.
now recently, i have been dx. with CME, as I was told by my retina doc in early May.
The dr. did mention that its "chronic" but we can maintain it. ---great.. :-(
I have only CME in my left eye only, will there be a chace that my right eye will later
develope the same scenario. I do have nerve damage to the right eye, but no adema is curretnly present.
I am currently undergoing avastin & laser treatments.
thnx for any input.

Depends on the location of the radiation.  If it was closer to the left eye and the right eye was less exposed to radiation, you hopefully do not develop it.  Radiation retinopathy can continue to progress for a few years after radiation has stopped though so you want to make sure both eyes are checked regularly by your retina specialist.  Also make sure you do not have diabetes or high blood pressure or if you do, make sure they are well treated as both can make retinopathy much worse.  Good luck.
