Dear larissaeryn,
I would recommend that you seek the care of an eyeMD to determine the cause of redness, pain and whether it is safe to resume wearing contact lenses.

Treatment will need to aimed at long term improvement in things such as dry eye syndrome, lid margin disease, allergic conjuctivitis, pinguecula or pterygia (sun damage) or which ever problem or problems are to blame for the chronic inflamed vessel. So, again, your ophthalmologist needs to first identify the cause, which is likely very chronic, then prescribe specific treatments aimed at improving things. Don't expect the vessel to just go away or shrink. It may take a lot of time to try to keep it from getting more inflamed and getting the eye to be more comfortable. For now, getting out of the offending contact lens may be your best first step. Good Luck.
