Reg sporadic congenital cataracts

I have congenital cataract and operated at the age of 4 yrs. Now i am 31 yrs and planning for pregnancy. I would like to know the chances of me passing this to my kid. My parents do not have congenital cataracts so it is heredity in my case. But will I create a chain of cataracts? Do i belong to autosomal dominant category? WIll I have 50% chance of passign then? Pls provide your thoughts. Your help is much appreciated

I could not give you an exact figure but the chances of your children having congenital cataracts is extremely small. I believe the incidence of sporadic congenital cataracts is about one in 25,000  and some of these do not require surgery.
