Repair of eye occlusion

I recently had cataract surgery on my left eye - worked great.
I then had cataract surgery on my right eye!
Big problem, I AM BLIND IN THAT EYE!
I've been told that I have a vein occlusion.
What would cause that during an operation?
What can I do?
Does the Department of Ophthalmology at University of Missouri offer any repairs for this situation?
Their Spectrum, Vol. 5, No. 1, June 2009 seems to offer several suggestions.
Where do you suggest I go to get the best chance at vision restoration?

You live in Vermont? Sorry I thought you lived in Missouri. You don't need to come halfway across the country. Ask for a referral to a retinal ophthalmologist.

It is most likely that the vein occlusion was there before the cataract was removed but could not be seen because the cataract blocks vision both ways seeing in and seeing out.

If you have access to the U of MIssouri have your surgeon make an appointment with their retina Eye MD Dean Hainsworth MD. He's a great retima MD and a nice guy. There are treatments to try and help you
