Retinal Edema

I have RP and several years ago I had cataracts removed. Shortly after the second surgery I had my right eye's corneal flap removed because it had become hard to see through. Then, I noticed blurry vision in that eye several months later and I've been told I have retinal edema.

Are there any treatment options available besides fluid management? I still have a visual field of about 6-7 degrees including my right eye so reducing that edema would help me tremendously. I currently am taking Diamox to reduce the edema but I do not see any difference.

Thanks!

Where are you?  I have not seen diamox used for macular edema for quite some time.  More common treatments are nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drops, steroid drops, and kenalog injections subtenons, and sometimes intravitreal.  You should see a board-certified ophthalmologist that is a retinal specialist.  Unfortunately the macular edema with RP can be quite stubborn and difficult to improve.  It is really more a part of the RP disease rather than a result of the cataract surgery - at least usually.
