Retinal issues due to my car banged from behind by another car.

Sir,

I am so scared right now. While driving home from office today my car was standstill at the cross-road and a car banged my car from behind with quite a lot force. He applied brakes but could not control his car. My head was banged against the headrest with some force.

I am totally scared as I had a small retinal tear ( left eye ) in May 2017 and had got laser done. I have slight headache right now but vision is normal.

Is it possible that something might have happened to retina that would manifest later ? I am planning to get my eyes checked but can't stop worrying about something that might manifest later.

I remember you said amusement park rides and whiplash could lead to retinal issues.

Please help.

I am scared to death and getting obsessed about it.

Thank you sir, the floaters that were already there are present but no real new ones that I could probably tell easily. I will try CBT. Once again thank you so very much

I am sorry but just this instance. I have an appointment with my doctor on Monday. It is 3 days and I was feeling very anxious. I am also taking meds for OCD
In the absence of an eye full of floaters, bright flashes of light or any loss of visual field the likelihood of having a RD or hole or tear is as low as I can give you from the description of your symptoms. Work with your psychiatrist to get your OCD under control, its a miserable way to go through life. Also discuss with him/her cognitive behavior therapy its pretty simple but very effective for dealing with anxiety and OCD.
