I am male, 64, in fairly good health. Feb 2010 I had laser surgery to seal two moderate sized retinal tears. The initial symptoms (awful cobwebs, specs of blood, etc.) have more or less cleared up and a month ago the doc said everything looked good.
However, two weeks ago he found another --small-- tear, lasered it and told me to come back in three months.
I continue to see "light shows" in the treated eye. These are different from the ephemeral "flashes" associated with floaters. They resemble miniature white plasma balls that start in the upper left corner and roll down and around to the lower right corner (moving around the edges of the retina?) before disappearing. They look like circular "aurora borealis" (nice to know I don't have to go to Alaska to see them!)
Also, I notice now that straight lines (railroad tracks, hedges, the horizon, lines of text, etc.) have a small, barely noticeable "dip" or "depression" in them when viewed with the treated eye. Is this normal? Caused by "lensing" or something after laser surgery?
Anyone experience anything similar?
Feedback appreciated.
