Right side eye pain after injury, that has never been resolved for many years?

Hi,

Hoping somone can help me, few years ago I was play fighting with my nephew who was only 7 years old, he accidentally kicked me in the eye with his toe nail, at the time it was very painful lasted for a few days, I went to opticians, they did their checks and seemed fine.

After a few weeks after this injury the pain only comes or is triggered if i rub or touch the eye, place pressure on very lightly it becomes painfull in a certain area of the right eyeball where it was kicked and the pain remains roughly for 24 hours, then when it recovers it becomes slightly itchy and no pain, the pain does not come on straight away but after a few min to hours once touched.

I was sent to a eye specialist from the opticians, who did the slit lamp eye test and checked my eye out including the eye lid and eye site which all seemed all fine.

They gave me dry eye drops to test as they couldn't see any issues.

it has been 4 years now and im still in the same position,  the dry eye drops haven't helped ive just learnt to avoid touching the right eye to avoid a painful episode. I have noticed if i have tears in my eye the right eye burns stings with the tears. Im thinking of giving another shot at the opticians and GP.
What could this injury possibly have done to my eye ?
Any advise on questions and tests i can ask for?

thanks again

You need your eyes examined yearly by an Eye MD ophthalmologist, not an optometrist.
