Scratched cornea ....

Hi, I was in a bar fight (actually just trying to stop a fight from happening) and I had my eye badly hit. Everything went black in my right eye for about an hour and then vision was just blurry and eye was blood shot all over. Went to three doctors and they gave me cyclogyl and dexamethasone eyedrops and told me to go back in two weeks. They all were not sure if my full vision will ever be restored and that it all depneds on how the scratch heals.
Can anyone help me out? I am out of options and am panicking after what being told that there was a slight possibility of permanent vision impairment. Can this happen from a scratched eye? Can vision be lost for good?
It has been almost a week now and my vision is still blurry (however I think this might be due to the enlarged pupil affect of the Cyclogyl). Not sure...

THere is no way I can tell but it can take 3-7 days for cyclogyl to wear off. Until it does you will not be able to judge if you're back to normal.

almost 11 days later now and I am off the Cyclogyl (as advised by my ophthalmologist) and have reduced Dexamethasone to three times daily. However, my vision is still quite blurry when looking at details from far. Also, vision seems brighter (white) than my other eye.
Do you reckon I will get my full normal vision back ? if so, how long does this usually take? I really appreciate your help

You did not have a slight injury, you had a blow to the eye. The eye is filled with fluids, the shock wave travels to all the eye and can damage any and all parts.  You are under treatment for traumatic iritis and perhaps blood in the eye (hyphema).

Do what your ophthalmologist tells you to do. The dilation is important to rest the iris.

Stay out of fights.
