Should I work out if I have high myopia?

Hello! My name is Adriana and I am 24 years old. I have been diagnosed with severe myopia since I've been a child. Now I have -10 for my left eye and around -20 for my right eye. 5 years ago, when I went to a doctor with what I thought to be something stuck in my eye, he also told me I had a rupture of the adipose tissue in my left eye. He said I had nothing to be worried about, that not all cases get to surgery.
Ever since I was little, the doctor told my mom that I shouldn't play sports and also that I shouldn't have a natural childbirth. In the course of time, I did workout quite hard at some points, but then I quit. I would like to know if it is really totally prohibited for me to have physical activity. About a month ago I started doing some indoors activity, just to keep fit, for about half an hour a day. It's something light, it doesn't include weight lifting, running or jumping. There are just a few aerobic exercises and some crunches (about 150). Is it really dangerous for me to do all this? If yes, what type of physical activity can I do? My profession is mostly intellectual and sometimes I really feel the need for physical activity. Also, I would like to keep fit.

I have myopia and my glasses are -6.50(spherical),-0.75 (Cyl) [Right eye] and -6.00(sph), -1.50(cyl) [left eye].
I am a 23 years old man. I do physical exercises like push ups, sit ups, crunching, etc. Recently I have joined a gym and I am interested to start weight lifting exercises. I have heard that hard exercise can worsen the eye sight of high myopic patients. Should I continue with it? I really want to do those exercises but I don't want my eyes to suffer for that. Please help!

I would suggest that you get a second opinion about your activities. In a patient with high myopia I suggest that contact sports may not be a good idea but running, swimming, stationary biking, light weight lifting, walking, low impact aerobics,  and most calistentics are okay.

Not to exercise as you get older runs the risk of heart disease, strokes, obesity.
