Sore red, itchy skin under my eyes when ducted heating comes on.

For the last 4-5 months since my boyfriend put on his ducted heating i have been getting a burning sensation that is itchy, red, sore and puffy just underneath my eyes. I noticed it started when they put the heating on and every time the heating is on it gets worse. I thought it might have been the dust so recently they got their ducts cleaned. However my skin underneath my eyes has blown up again and now are red raw and sore. My boyfriend is a brick layer also and i wasn't sure if they limestone in his skin from work is causing this when the heating goes on. It is strange though because he showers and washes his hair before seeing me. I'm worried if i see a specialist it will cost me hundreds and i'm not rich. I stayed home last week and my eyes started to get so much better but as soon as i went back to his house and the heating was on ouch my skin underneath my eyes was red sore and itchy. I want to know what i have so i can fix it. I've tried creams from my local doctor and it only burns more.

Dry eyes or dry skin is the most likely cause so try artificial tears every hour or so and especially at bedtime.  A lubricating ointment for the eye and lids at bedtime may also help.  Try refresh pm or lacrilube at bedtime and artificial tears hourly and see an ophthalmologist for a complete exam as soon as possible.
