Strange disturbances in vision

Hi, recently I have noticed that there are strange disturbances in my vision; when I look at the sky or out of a window there are bubbles floating in my vision. Also I sometimes notice black dots or lights also sometimes patches of colour. Is this normal?

Dear olista,

It is important for you to see an eyeMD to determine the cause and ascertain the status of your retina.  Any sudden change in the floaters, light flashes when your eye is closed or a curtain coming down, requires immediate attention!

Yes its normal. You likely are seeing vitreous floaters or observing one of several entopic eye effects. Nevertheless if you have not had an eye exam by a MD in the last 1-2 years get one. Find an Eye MD at www.aao.org
