Thought it was a corneal abrasion...

I am a 31-year old healthy female.  I've worn contact lenses since 1996 but have never had any problems.

I was out hiking and got hit in the eye with a tree branch.  For two days I had no symptoms of anything, and I'd forgotten about the incident entirely.  Two days later I woke up with a foreign body sensation, photosensitivity, and lacrimation in one eye.  I did not recall if was the same eye that got hit, but I assumed it was.  I assumed I had a corneal abrasion and decided to let it go for a few days to see what happened.  After two days with no improvement, I saw an ophthalmologist.  She diagnosed me with a corneal abrasion, gave me antibiotic drops, and asked me to follow-up in 3 days.  I did so, and the ophthalmologist (a different one) at that time told me it did not look post-traumatic and did not look infectious, so he wasn't sure what it was, but he didn't think it was a corneal abrasion.  He set me up to see a corneal specialist this coming week.

My symptoms have progressed as follows:  I had 3 days of foreign body sensation, photophobia, and tearing.  Then for 2 days those symptoms improved.  Now for the past 3 days I've had blurry vision and muscle twitching in my lower eyelid.  The blurry vision has not progressed or improved over the past few days, it's just kind of there.  (As a side note, obviously I haven't worn contacts since the onset of symptoms.)

Any ideas?  Thanks in advance!  :)

My problem started on 10/31/2011 it felt something was in my eyes and I went to the Ophthalmologist doctor he said I had long eye lashes and gave me some eye drop and sent me on my way... I used the eye drop it still felt as if something was in my eyes. I call him again he gave me some more eye drop they didn't work. So I went to another Ophthalmologist he did a good checkup so he said he knew what was going on so he gave me some eye drop and some ointment to put in my eyes when I go to bed at night that didn't work. I started take claritin and it is working so I have allergies and I have never had allergies in my life so now I know the signs..
