Thoughts on using preservative free lubricating vials until empty?

So I usually purchase Clear Eyes preservative free lubricating drops for dry eyes.  This comes in a single bottle that has a filter on it that supposed to keep it free from contaminants.  I go through one of these bottles in a month.  I ran out last week and the store was currently out of stock.  I went ahead and tried the Genteal Tears preservative free drops that come in individual vials (36 in the box).  The instructions say one time use and then discard.  I have found that you can replace the caps on these.  I really don't see an issue with replacing the caps on these and using all of the drops until the vial is empty -- as long as you take common sense precautions on not touching anything when dispensing.  Does this seem like I may be asking for trouble (infections or whatever)?

Side note - these latest genteal preservative free drops (for moderate cases of dry eye) in the vial are working the best - like night and day - compared to the others I have tried.  I think I will stick with them.

Regards,  Jim

As a generalization I think most people use all the preservative free drops from a vial before opening the next. As long as you use within a day or three of opening probably no problem. However I would not use one that has been opened for 4 or more days.
