I'm 17 yrs. old and every time I wear contact lenses my eyes become red and bloodshot. My left eye is a lot worse than my right one! I went to my eye doctor and he INSISTED that it was just because my eyes were dry. I have very large eyes and live in a dry climate, so I suppose that might be a factor... So I bought Systane eyedrops yesterday and have been using them since. The redness seems slightly better, but it's still there. I recently switched from Proclear Torics to colored toric lenses. There is no pain, light sensitivity, discomfort, or anything - they're just RED!!! I HATE it. And I don't think it's the lenses I'm using. Even when I had clear contact lenses, my eyes would still become bloodshot, ESPECIALLY in places like school and stores. I drink at least eight glasses of water a day, always get at least nine hours of sleep, and do not do much of anything that could cause eye strain...
Also, my eye doctor recommened Clear Care solution. He said there's nothing in it that should cause an allergic reaction. Do you think it could be something in the saline solution I use that is causing the problem? Once again, I don't think it's my lenses because every single lens brand I have tried has given me red eyes. I use Equate Saline Solution, so do you think I could be allergic to something in it? Please help, I really want to get rid of this redness!!
