Uneven pupils+ringing ears

Hi I’m 36 and starting at 3 months ago because that is when I had a c-section and things went downhill from there. First, I received 4 spinal tap needles and been seen by a doctor which said, since the pain in your back is going away some, I don’t think we need to do a blood patch. Then I had some very terrible teeth pain but just lately had that problem fixed. All the while since my little one was born I’ve been pretty heavily medicated with (to me anyways) Tylenol 3’s, Ibuprofen for swelling and antibiotic’s for teeth all but 3’s week for the last 3 months but after seeing the doctor (a week or so ago) I’ve almost stopped all med’s. I forgot to tell the doctor about my uneven pupils, he was already overwhelmed. I have uneven pupils on and off through each day, I feel kind of sore behind the eye that doesn’t dilate (the right) as much but they both react to the flashlight test , Ringing in my ears (very sensitive to motor sounds and generators), pin’s and needles type feeling from my neck to my right elbow (only in the evenings) and only in my shoulder blade area for a week. My back still is sensitive with some movement but nothing like before. When I read the computer I feel the soreness in my right eye more. THANK you very much for reading my question.

Yes, I still have some symptoms now but they're much better.  My problems were similar to yours, but not exact.  What happened to me was after my c-section I suddenly had blurry vision/eye pain and strange ear problems....such as ringing, roaring, humming, feeling like my ear drums were pulsating....and the strangest one, was a feeling like my head was bobbing forward and backward when it wasn't.  I was given a prescription for motion sickness and referred to an ENT when that didn't work.  The ENT gave me an appointment for some other testing, (which I didn't do), but said the problem might go away and that it could be the after effects of a virus.

Another similar thing is the dental work...with my pregnancy I suddenly had huge dental problems and I had been to the dentist a year before getting pregnant and the dentist said I had "nice teeth".....the teeth problems must have been from the constant vomiting.  I also had the back, neck, shoulder and arm pain with some pins and needles feeling, plus a hot or burning feeling in the middle of my upper back.

So anyway I had been on tons of antibiotics and painkillers too.

Thankfully a year after the c-section my problems are just minor annoyances now.  You just had your baby very recently and it might just take a while for everything to get back to normal?

But you should definately follow up with a Dr. because I'm just sharing my horror story (LOL!), not trying to give you any ideas because your problems could be different.

Take care, and good luck with your baby!

Thanks to you and the great doctors here. So you still have the same symptoms now after a year even(but not as bad)? I hold my baby in my left arm always but maybe this is much the same since I'm 'Out of Wack' somehow. I did end up getting a head scan which turn out fine. And after taking a break from the computer and coming back to read so much, my pupils react alot now on the computer, I think. I've also noticed that if I sneak a smoke my ears hmmm much worse. I wonder if smoking can cause or make worse this problem?  So many people say a c-section is so easy but that's not my take on this. I've never been so Ouched, so Drugged, or so useless in all my life. Is that how you feel too?

Hi,  I had a c-section a year ago and had similar symptoms.  I went to a few doctor's and specialist appointments, but didn't follow up because I got sick of not hearing any real answers, plus the symptoms aren't nearly as bad as they were.

I decided....after reading on the internet (haha) I was probably being overdosed on Ibuprofen, but that's just me.

Anyway, you probably hold your baby in your right arm...so that could be a cause of that problem?

No matter what the sound is like it needs to be evaluated. Humming suggests tinnitus is less likely and blood vessel related things need to be excluded such as A-V fistulas.

Your symptoms don't suggest a stroke but do, as I indicated, need a complete evaluation.

So from what I've told you though I really need to see some specialists but nothing I should be to overly paranoid about, right? I was really worried and my doctor is only booking app. For into the end of the next month, I’ll make an appointment for then. If my symptoms were something serious my eye wouldn’t respond to light properly right? It’s just that I thought serious symptoms(like a stroke) were pretty much what I told you my symptoms are but I realize that pupils do respond differently (I know nothing about) and that it would be kind of weird to have a major problem right after my go around and it not be somehow connected to this. Speaking of which, the sound I hear in my ear is more of a humming and I heard this really bad after my surgery. Thank you so much for your time and I know you are very busy, I’m just trying to connect as many dots as I can and be somewhat hopeful that I don’t have to get another needle in my back, Ouch! J

Hello Shadowpf  What a tough time you've had recently. The Tylenol 3's could have an effect on making your pupils unequal.

Ringing in the ears (tinnitus) needs to be evaluated. I suggest you see and Ears-Nose-Throat physiciand (ENT MD) for a hearing test and to investigate the tinnitus.

You should also consider making an appointment with an Eye MD (ophthalmologist) for a comprehensive medical eye examination and to investigate the eye pain when using a computer.

You should discuss the the pins and needles (doctors call this parethesias) in your neck and arm. That can sometimes indicate a cervical disk problem.

Do please get these worrisome symptoms properly evaluated.
